What this usually means
Heartworm disease comes from worms that mosquitoes spread. Clinics commonly run a test and dispense a prevention product. Those are the lines FairVet prices here.
Treatment of a dog who already has heartworms is a different bill. It is not its own price line yet, so this page does not quote it.
Why the bill varies
- A test at a wellness visit is a different bill from a prevention product sized for a large dog.
- Prevention is often sold as a supply, so a one-month box and a six-month box can land on the same kind of line.
